The Battle of New Orleans

The battle of new orleans during the war of 1812 was fought in January, 1815.  Under the lead of General Andrew Jackson, US forces defeated the British forces killing around 700 and wounding more than 1400.  The US military had only 8 losses and 13 wounded.  The Battle of New Orleans proved to be a large moral and confidence booster for the army and country as a whole.
